Internship Program
I thoroughly enjoyed my summer with Levin Papantonio. I think the most valuable part of the summer for me was getting to work on very substantive work. I didn’t feel like I was ever just doing busy work. From my very first day I was given a giant research project and went off to write a memo. I always had my attorneys to go back to if I had questions or wanted to talk about anything, but I was trusted with a lot of responsibility to do the research and get the project done on time. It’s was a great takeaway to get to say I conducted that level of research and analysis.
One of my favorite aspects of this summer was getting to sit in on many different types of meetings. It gave a whole new perspective to the summer when I got to listen to the decision making process of whether to pick up a new type of case or what type of strategy should be used.
My name is Dominique and for the second half of my summer I have been working at the Lanier Law Firm in Houston. My experience at Lanier included a Lunch & Learn with former U.S. Circuit Judge and former U.S. Solicitor General, Ken Starr on Oral Argument, an opportunity to take and defend a mock deposition (just like in ITAP!), and a seminar with Jury Psychologist, Dr. Bob Leone.
